How are hadith authenticated?
Hadith scholars do not judge a report by how it sounds, or by how often it is repeated.
They test it against a definition with fixed conditions: a chain of transmission that connects, transmitters who are upright and accurate, and no anomaly or hidden defect. A report that meets all of them is called sahih.
